Amid concerns raised by other UN ambassadors, Ambassador Waltz reiterated the U.S.’s reasoning for the capture of the dictator.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Mike Waltz defended the removal of Venezuelan Leader Nicolás Maduro during a UN Security Council meeting this week. Ambassador Waltz echoed similar points that other administration officials have offered, including how Maduro and his wife have been responsible for destabilizing the Western Hemisphere, attacking the United States, and “illegitimately repressing the people of Venezuela.”
Ambassador Waltz also shared that “there is no war against Venezuela or its people. We are not occupying a country. This was a law enforcement operation.”
The ambassador also explained, “President Trump gave diplomacy a chance. He offered Maduro multiple off-ramps. He tried to de-escalate… The United States will not waver in its actions.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Ambassador Waltz as he represents the United States at the United Nations.
- For wisdom for Secretary Rubio and all U.S. diplomats as they engage foreign officials regarding global issues.
- For God to work through President Trump and his administration as he seeks to bring peace to the various countries of the world.
